The European School Brussels III is looking for:A part-time nurse (m/f) – Permanent contractContract of 18h45m/week with an effective schedule of 22h05m/week*Start date: 07/01/2025
- The working time is set at 22h05m per week spread over 180 school days (the hours worked in addition to the part-time will allow the employee to benefit from all the school holidays of ESB3)
The European Schools are an intergovernmental organization offering multilingual and multicultural education.You will work as a nurse within the infirmary of the European School of Brussels III.In collaboration with other team members, you will, among others, ensure the following tasks :Infirmary management:
- Reception and guidance of students in case of a crisis situation
- Routine care for students (injured, sick, care at regular intervals)
- Emergency care for the entire school population in case of an accident or malaise
- Management and ordering of pharmacy stocks and single-use materials for care and medical visits
- Management of medical files and archives
- Contact with parents
Organization of school medical follow-up in collaboration with the school doctor:
- Medical visits (including the management of medical files)
- Management of measures to be taken in case of infectious and contagious diseases among the school population
- Liaison work between doctors, teachers, parents, rehabilitation specialists, psychologists, and students
Participation in the implementation of a health education program and the development of addiction prevention in collaboration with psychologists, the guidance center, and the entire school community.
- Reporting, management, and follow-up of “school accident” insurance
- If applicable, participation in school trips (if the service requires it)
- Graduated nurse or bachelor in nursing (A1 level required)
- Relevant professional experience of at least 3 years
- Professional experience as a nurse in a school environment, particularly in a European school, is an asset
- A very good knowledge of French and English (written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of another European language is an asset.
- Mastery of computer tools and office software (MS-Office) and ability to quickly learn internal tools of the European Schools system as well as applications specific to the infirmary
- Ability to plan, develop, and evaluate service activities in dialogue with management
- Interpersonal skills and excellent listening, empathy, and analytical abilities
- Rigor, discretion, organizational skills, responsibility, and ability to manage priorities
- Ability to work proactively and independently as well as in a team, with a spirit of collaboration
- Flexibility, stress resistance, availability, and adaptability
- Ease in contacts with a demanding public in a multicultural environment
- Good communication skills and writing abilities
We offer a part-time contract (18h45m/week) on a permanent basis, in accordance with Belgian legislation and the Service regulations for the Administrative and Ancillary Staff (AAS) of the European Schools (available at: ).
- Start date: 07 January 2025
- Salary: Monthly salary of at least €2,856.54 gross based on a part-time position corresponding to 18.75h/week. The exact grade and level will be determined based on the number of years of relevant experience and by decision of management.
- Effective schedule: The working time is set at 22h05m per week spread over 180 school days (the hours worked in addition to the part-time will allow the employee to benefit from all the school holidays of ESB3).
