Competitive Salary ($90,000-$120,000), Benefits & BonusOur growing Client is a leading food manufacturer of Consumer Packaged Goods, is seeking a dynamic Procurement Manager to join their collaborative team. The Procurement Manager is responsible for optimizing procurement processes, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings while ensuring the highest quality standards. - Lead a high-performing team of procurement professionals; establishing clear objectives, providing regular feedback, mentorship, and guidance, fostering individual development and performance, and creating an empowering and supportive work environment
- Develop and maintain procurement policies and procedures, recommending and implementing improvements, including but not limited to cost control, cash flow planning, quality standards, mitigate supply chain risks, Purchase Order management, vendor selection, set-up and on-boarding process, contract negotiations, dual source of supply.
- Oversee all contract negotiations and agreements with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms
- Leverage data analytics and technology to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and facilitating data-driven decision-making across procurement and the entire Supply chain
- Ensures procurement KPIs, self-assessments and vendor performance scorecards are completed
- Lead the material planning process, managing inventory on hand coverage and future purchase needs to support production schedule, implementing best in practice processes to report status of components to production planner.
- Pro-actively identify supplier issues, find root cause solutions, and create process improvements to create supply chain efficiency.
- Refine and enhance a category management process within the procurement function to share market intelligence, category performance, competitive threats & manufacturing landscape on key categories, to support business decisions.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as disruptions in the flow of goods or geopolitical issues affecting suppliers.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Post-Secondary education in Industrial Engineering/Logistics/Business or a related discipline.
- 5+ years relevant experience in a leadership capacity and within a Supply Chain environment, ideally in a food or CPG manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and have superior communication, interpersonal, team-building, analytical and facilitation skills.
- SCMP or the equivalent would be an asset
- Good understanding of souring and contractual issues in order to advise the business appropriately and to manage risk
- Strong Negotiation skills and experience in negotiating vendor contracts
- Proficiency with Excel and experience with an ERP
- Previous experience with sourcing and developing new suppliers for raw materials, products, and services
- Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and documentation
- Must be highly motivated and self-disciplined
- Ability to make data driven decisions, and to multi task and work on various projects at any given time with competing deadlines
