We are looking for someone to work Awake Shifts and join our youth focused team to help support taiohi in a homelike environment.Real | Mō mātou

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahiThis role is permanent, part-time working Sunday and Monday, 11:00pm-7:30am.We’re looking for a youth worker to join our Nelson House team and report to the Team Coach. You’ll be supporting taiohi in a home like environment to develop life skills so they can thrive in their community. You must have the ability to relate to Taiohi and help them with goal planning, building their wellbeing, resilience and confidence.You | Mōu
In this role you will need:
- Hold a National Certificate in Mental Health and Addiction Support Work (level 4), National Certificate in Youth Work, Level 4 certificate in Health and Wellbeing, a health qualification or above tertiary qualification
- Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care
- Be experienced or comfortable with group facilitation
- Passionate about supporting young people to build confidence, and resilience
- Both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills
- A current full New Zealand driver’s licence
- A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one
- Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
