We offer more than 250 courses, from Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)/Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCE VM)/Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS), through to nationally accredited qualifications such as certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, degrees, graduate certificates, graduate diplomas and short courses.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is accountable for the leadership and management of a group of educational business areas. The position is responsible for both strategic educational leadership and effective delivery of high-quality educational products, teaching systems, programs and services. The Associate Director – Trades will focus on developing and executing business growth strategies, educational excellence, and ensuring sustainability of this Portfolio.
As a vocational leader, this role will lead and manage all aspects of the teaching and learning operations of the Portfolio in the pursuit of excellence and business growth. A primary objective of this role is to lead education business areas to excel in the ensuring a foundation of high-quality teaching and learning, within Chisholm process and policy, and aligning to both Regulatory Standards and our contracts, including Chisholm’s Skills First contract. By fostering and developing strong industry and community networks and creating a high performing, respectful and collaborative team culture, the incumbent will plan and drive the Portfolio towards delivery of agreed teaching and financial outcomes, ensuring that the student and client are at the centre of all we do.
The incumbent is a key and active participant of the Chisholm Leadership Group. The Associate Director – Trades will ensure educational excellence amongst all teaching staff in their portfolio, manage financial and budget requirements, and create and drive business growth. The incumbent will build and maintain an engaged, effective, respectful team of Managers, and a collegiate working environment for the Education Business Group and their Portfolio.
Your key accountabilities will be to:
Working with the Chief of Education and colleagues, ensure the effective implementation and continuous improvement of operations under Chisholm’s Education Plan, developing the Portfolio’s business and operational plans, and provide input to the overall Chisholm strategy and budget process, aligned to Chisholm’s 2021-2024 Strategic Plan.
Drive and ensure high quality educational foundations across all educational processes that are consistent with Regulatory Standards, Chisholm policy and procedure and firmly establish excellence in educational delivery in both teaching and learning.
Define and assign responsibility for roles in key program areas to ensure educational consistency and quality control of program delivery across all forms of educational delivery.
Demonstrate workplace leadership by role modelling Chisholm’s values, driving and adapting to change to optimise performance and support engaged and high performing teams.
Develop and monitor the Education Portfolio’s annual budget with a particular emphasis on ensuring that external performance measures, staff ratios and teaching loads are managed effectively and always within budget.
Build strategic industry and community partnership networks based on current and future needs to drive growth, improve educational delivery and enhance the Institute brand reputation.
Foster and maintain strategic partnerships with Government, Peak Bodies and Industry Associations and organisations to maximise growth and partnership opportunities for the Institute.
ABOUT YOU
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification, preferably at a Post Graduate level, and ongoing professional development.
It is desirable that you have experience in developing, leading, planning, and managing tertiary delivery
Critical to your success will be your significant previous experience in a complex leadership role, involving the management and leadership of a multidiscipline team, and ideally in an education environment. You are able to demonstrate your ability to foster high quality stakeholder relationships, identify market opportunities and translate these into new business growth outcomes.
